Collection: A Recovery of Compassion

If you've every felt like you're too much and not enough at the same time, like you should just get your shit together or the people in your life will be fed up with you; I made this collection with you in my heart.

Created in the quiet moments of healing from my hysterectomy for adenomyosis and fibroids, this collection, 'A RECOVERY OF COMPASSION', explores what it looks and feels like to give yourself compassion during hard times.

Recovering from surgery was rough for me. Not in a physical sense, that went quite well thankfully. But I was EXTREMELY hard on myself and felt like the biggest burden. I talked about this in therapy and during one of our sessions, my therapist asked me if she could share what she had written down in her notes: "What would it look like if you approached yourself with more compassion?" And she had underlined 'compassion' twice.

A simple question, but I found coming up with an answer less simple. In 'A RECOVERY OF COMPASSION' I explore this question and I hope each painting feels like a call to offer yourself more kindness.
